What Should I Look for in a Solar Workmanship Warranty?

How to read a workmanship agreement and tell coverage from marketing.

Updated 2026-02-10

Workmanship coverage protects the installation itself — mounting, penetrations, flashing, conduit and wiring. It is separate from the manufacturer warranties on the equipment.

Questions worth asking

What is covered and what is excluded? Are service labor and truck rolls included, or billed? Does it cover roof penetrations and resulting leaks? Does it transfer if you sell? What happens if the installing company closes?

Our approach

Our 25-year full workmanship agreement is designed to provide long-term protection and peace of mind. Its coverage, exclusions, eligibility requirements and transfer terms are written into the contract documents, and we walk through them with you before signing rather than after.

Solar production, bill offset and payment comparisons vary by home, usage, roof, shading, utility rate schedule and financing terms. Nothing on this site is a guarantee of savings. Pricing comparisons depend on system size, equipment, financing structure and contract terms. Any comparison is only meaningful between comparable systems and comparable financing.
