Solar Financing Built Around Your Budget

Your options
Four ways to pay for solar
Each has a legitimate use. The right one depends on your capital, your tax situation, how long you plan to stay, and the exact terms on the table.
Cash purchase
Lowest total cost, because no interest and no finance fee is built into the price. Requires the full amount up front and ties up capital.
Solar loan
Preserves cash and spreads cost over time. Watch the gap between the cash price and the financed price — that gap is the real cost of the money.
$0-down structures
No payment at signing for qualified customers, subject to lender credit approval and program terms. $0 down is a structure, not a free system.
PPA agreements
A third party owns the system and you pay for the electricity it produces. No ownership, no equipment responsibility. Terms matter enormously.
Local & regional lenders
We maintain relationships with local and regional financial partners in addition to national programs, so you can compare rather than take the first offer.
Your own bank or credit union
If your credit union beats what we can arrange, use it. We will quote the cash price so you can finance it wherever you like.
The thing nobody explains
Why the dealer fee matters more than the rate
Very low advertised rates on long-term solar loans are commonly funded by a fee added into the amount financed. A 2.99% rate on a much larger balance can cost more over the term than a higher rate applied to the cash price.
You can see it in one question: what is the cash price, and what is the financed price, for the identical system? The difference is what the financing costs. We will show you both, on our proposal and on anyone else's you bring us.
Payments vs. your bill
How a solar payment compares with your current electricity cost
Depending on your project, financing structure, energy usage and utility rates, your solar payment may compare favorably with your current electricity costs. That is a comparison we model with your real numbers — it is not a promise, and we will not make one.
Even a well-sized system typically leaves a minimum delivery charge and non-bypassable fees on your utility account, so a solar bill is usually smaller rather than absent. Anyone telling you your bill goes to zero is skipping over how the billing works.
Solar production, bill offset and payment comparisons vary by home, usage, roof, shading, utility rate schedule and financing terms. Nothing on this site is a guarantee of savings. *$0-down financing is available to qualified customers only and is subject to lender credit approval, program availability, system design, and final contract terms. Not all applicants qualify.
