Installation day is one day in a process that usually runs several weeks. Knowing the sequence removes most of the anxiety.
The sequence
Site survey and final design. Engineering and plan set. Permit submission to your city or county. HOA approval where applicable. Installation, typically one to three days for a residential system. Building inspection. Utility interconnection application and permission to operate. Monitoring activation and system walkthrough.
Where delays come from
Permitting timelines and utility interconnection queues vary by jurisdiction and are outside any installer's direct control. What we can control is submitting complete packages the first time and telling you where your project stands.
Solar production, bill offset and payment comparisons vary by home, usage, roof, shading, utility rate schedule and financing terms. Nothing on this site is a guarantee of savings. Pricing comparisons depend on system size, equipment, financing structure and contract terms. Any comparison is only meaningful between comparable systems and comparable financing.
